This is sufficient for representing an image to be displayed on a computer screen, but does not allow the full range of light intensity which is present in the real world to be represented. In the case of the images on HDRI Haven, they're full 360° panoramic images with high dynamic range. An HDRI doesn't have that limitation because it's composed of several photographs of the scene captured at different exposures.
